Full-Auto P Mode.

For point-and-shoot simplicity, just press the P button and the Maxxum 4 will do everything but compose your shot—even fire the flash if necessary.

Intelligent Built-In Flash.

Takes the worry out of shooting in low-light by firing automatically whenever necessary. Red-Eye Reduction greatly reduces the red-eye effect in flash portraits. When using a D series lens, ADI (Advanced Distance Integration) metering ensures proper flash exposures regardless of background or subject reflectance.

(* ADI flash metering works only with (D) lenses.)

Subject Program Selection.
The following 5 pre-programmed shooting modes allow you to shoot a particular scene beautifully by just pressing a single button. All you do is compose, then fire away.

Portrait Mode.
By blurring the background while keeping the subject in sharp focus, this mode creates dramatic portrait shots.

Sports Action Mode.
Thanks to its super-fast continuous autofocus and high shutter speeds, this mode lets you freeze fast-moving subjects with amazing clarity.

Close-Up Mode.
The perfect mode for shooting memorabilia, flowers and other small subjects. This mode captures subject details while keeping distracting backgrounds out of focus.

Landscape Mode.
Controls depth of field so a subject in the foreground and the landscape in the background are both sharp.

Night Portrait Mode.
Adds exciting background details to shots taken at night or with sunset backgrounds by combining the flash with a longer exposure.
