The Power to Respond To Photographic Opportunity

Easy Subject Program Selection

Five Subject Programs provide optimized solutions for common shooting situations.

Portrait For beautiful portraits with a defocused background. Landscape For scenic shots with crisp focus on subjects near and far.
Sports Action For dramatic images of action sports and moving subjects Night Portrait/Night View For night photos with properly exposed subjects and backgrounds.
Macro For macro close-ups of collectibles, flowers and other small items.

14-Segment Honeycomb-Pattern Metering

In difficult lighting conditions, the Maxxum 70's 14-segment honeycomb-pattern metering draws on an array of sensors to deliver beautifully balanced exposures. If you prefer, you can also switch to center-weighted average meeting or spot metering. With three metering methods to choose from, you're always in control.

Film Chamber with Safety Lock Door

When the camera is loaded, the film chamber door is automatically locked for safety. So instead of worrying about your film, you can concentrate on shooting. After the film has been rewound, the cover can be opened simply by sliding the back-cover release down.

Adjustable Eyepiece Focus to Suit User's Vision

A dioptric adjustment lever on the eyepiece allows users who wear eyeglasses to adjust viewfinder focus to suit their vision requirements.
