Other CCD highlights
Compared with 1/2-type CCDs, the sensor on the DiMAGE 7 uses a longer focal length to achieve the same angle of view, which confers a beautifully defocused look to backgrounds during telephoto shooting.
Another advantage is extended dynamic range. This provides enhanced tone reproduction, so that a greater amount of detail gets included in the shadow and highlight areas of your images.
The 5.24-megapixel CCD is capable of discriminating fine detail in the high frequency range, such as with hair and leaf patterns. This leads to better results with portrait and landscape shooting.
High resolution, rich gradations, and beautiful defocusing: The combination of these and other qualities create images that simply cannot be replicated with less powerful CCDs such as 1/1.8-type 4-megapixel CCD.
