Wide-angle 28mm* zoom lens (DiMAGE 7)
With its wide angle of view, the DiMAGE 7 allows you to create unique images that capture more of the scene. This feature is useful for capturing landscape and architectural images (both outdoor and indoor).

Super Macro Mode
The DiMAGE 7 has a maximum magnification of 0.7X, and covers a wide imaging area of approx. 4 x 5 cm (1.6 x 2 inches). As for the DiMAGE 5, you get an amazing 0.87X magnification ratio and an imaging area of approx. 3 x 4 cm (1.2 x 1.6 inches). You can take shots of an insect, for example, without it getting away. Manual focusing and 4X Electronic Magnification also contribute to great results with macro photography.
Telescopic 250mm* zoom lens (DiMAGE 5)
The DiMAGE 5 brings distant subjects within your shooting range, making it an ideal camera for sports or wildlife photography. By providing control over depth of field, it lets you experiment creatively with defocused background effects.

Expansive 7X optical zoom
From panoramic landscapes to portraits to close-up shots, the wide 7X optical zoom range offers dynamic composition capabilities. The DiMAGE 7 features a focal range equivalent to 28 - 200mm on a 35mm camera, and the DiMAGE 5 has a range equivalent to 35 - 250mm.

2X digital zoom
Zoom range can be doubled with the touch of a button, up to a maximum zoom ratio of 14X. The DiMAGE 5 achieves a telescopic 500mm* focal length, and the DiMAGE 7 can be expanded to 400mm*.

* Focal lengths are 35mm camera equivalents.
