The Digital Hyper Viewfinder enhances your creative control

Digital Subject Program Selection
Leave exposure and shutter speed calibration to the camera for a variety of scenes: portrait, sports, sunset, night portrait, and text. Effects can be confirmed on the viewfinder, and adjustments made through the Digital Effects Control can be added.

Optimized viewing plus functional design
The Digital Hyper Viewfinder includes 220,000 pixels to offer a clear view of the scene. Field of view is approx. 100% without parallax error. Various types of shooting information are displayed within the viewfinder, and you can also confirm the effects of image adjustments before shooting. A 0 to 90 degree tilt mechanism facilitates composition, particularly during macro photography. To conserve battery power, a sensor detects when you are looking through the viewfinder, and temporarily turns off the camera's LCD monitor. With the DiMAGE 7, the CCD automatically turns up the gain in dark conditions to enable focusing without the use of an AF illuminator.

On-the-spot image adjustments with the Digital Effects Control (DEC)
Adjust exposure, contrast, and saturation through the viewfinder itself, prior to image capture. You can check how your adjustments will look using either the viewfinder or the LCD monitor. Combining this feature with the bracketing function makes it easy to get the unique images you want in many different shooting situations.

4X Electronic Magnification (DiMAGE 7 only)
With a touch of the magnification button, the central portion of the viewfinder can be enlarged by a factor of four. This is especially useful during macro photography, as it facilitates manual focusing on the important details of the scene.
