Dynamic imaging begins with wide compositional capabilities, and that's exactly what the 7X optical zoom lens provides. Take advantage of its widest 28mm angle to take breathtaking landscapes, or to more effectively capture indoor and outdoor architectural shots. And you can zoom to a telescopic 200mm angle to get the extra range you need for sporting events and other scenes viewed from a distance.
Note: Focal lengths are 35mm camera equivalents. |

With a press of the 2X digital zoom button, you can double your zoom range in an instant. This function boosts the maximum focal range to the equivalent of 400mm. |

Macro imaging comes in two types, Wide and Tele. So whether the lens is fully extended or at its widest setting, you can begin macro imaging just by flicking the Macro switch on the lens barrel. Wide-angle macro lets you include more of the background into the picture when shooting flowers or other small objects. Tele macro, on the other hand, is great for filling the shot with your subject. Your subject is captured in sharp detail, while the background is naturally defocused. |

Creating long exposures is another of camera's strong suits, thanks to its highly efficient noise reduction. This feature leads to clear images with different types of lighting, and works in tandem with CxProcess for great results. Shutter speeds are adjustable up to 30 seconds. |

| The DiMAGE 7i has a built-in flash with several selectable modes: fill-flash, red-eye reduction (built-in flash only), rear flash sync, and wireless/remote flash mode. Flash synchronization is performed with all shutter speeds. There are two types of flash metering (ADI and Pre-flash TTL), and metering is done by the CCD to obtain precise exposure control. |
