There are two autofocus modes to choose from. The Single-shot AF mode puts a focus lock into effect once your subject is in focus. Alternatively, the Continuous AF mode tracks a moving subject as you press the shutter-release button halfway. Manual focus can also be selected. With the DiMAGE 7i, the camera's CCD automatically turns up the gain in dark conditions, which enables focusing in lighting as dim as Bv-6 without the use of a flash.
