The Super Fine EVF is an extra-large VGA viewfinder that offers nearly four times the resolution of conventional QVGA electronic viewfinders (922,000 pixels vs. 235,000 pixels). You will be able to confirm how your shot is focused more easily, without having to magnify the viewfinder display. Other aids to shot composition include a wide 32 degree viewing angle (similar to a 35mm SLR camera), 90 degree tilting for low-position shooting, and the other special features described below.

When you want a detailed view to check manual focusing, the High Precision mode (640 x 480, 30 fps) comes in handy. Alternatively, if you plan to continuously shoot a moving subject, switch to the Smooth mode (640 x 480, 60 fps) for a more fluid view of the action.

In dim conditions, sensitivity is raised automatically to provide a clearer image in the viewfinder. This increased visibility will help you capture the subject in low light, as high autofocusing precision can be maintained without relying on an AF illuminator.

Viewfinder brightness can be freely adjusted to match the scene, ensuring comfortable shooting with the viewfinder in various situations.

Manual focusing becomes much easier with the Super Fine EVF because its resolution is nearly four times greater than conventional viewfinders. Plus there is the Flex Digital Magnifier (FDM), which allows you to magnify the focusing point by 3.3x. Focus adjustments can be more precise, and performed more quickly, thanks to these features.

You can check the real-time histogram or grid line display in the Super Fine EVF, along with the current status of exposure, contrast, saturation, and filter settings. This type of versatile data display gives the Super Fine EVF a distinct advantage over optical viewfinders, and allows you to concentrate more fully on shooting as well.

To make it easier for you to shoot from a low position, the Super Fine EVF is designed to tilt upward smoothly anywhere from 0 to 90 degrees.
