With its 8.0 megapixel resolution, the DiMAGE A200 is a remarkable photographic tool. Create subtle, expressive images. Take rich, beautiful portraits of people you love. Capture landscapes in breathtaking detail. The large, 2/3-inch CCD provides intricate detail for outstanding, photo-quality 300-dpi images at almost A4 size
(27.6 x 20.7cm/10.8 x 8.1 inches).
The new engine speeds up image processing for more comfortable shooting, and uses less power than our previous engines. You will see results with better detail and richer tones and colors all the way from the highlights to the shadows. It also suppresses color and luminance noise in uniform objects, like blue skies and walls.
By controlling four of the elements -- sharpness, brightness, contrast, and noise -- that determine image quality, CxProcessTMIII further improves on our original image-processing technology to faithfully reproduce delicate textural nuances in skin-tones, hair, and other details. In addition to producing vivid colors, it enhances the reproduction of highlights for a crisp, natural result that closely resembles the subject as you remember it.

The Konica Minolta all-glass GT APO lens system uses two molded-glass aspherical lenses and two AD glass lenses to minimize flare, chromatic aberration and image distortion. Combined with the 4x digital zoom, this high-quality system gives you a maximum 28x zoom range.
The GT Lens of the DiMAGE A200 achieves high magnification within a compact design. Zooming involves movement of the 1st through 4th components. The 4th component is the focusing lens group, which is moved to adjust focus. Because this lens group is very light (each lens weighs approx. 1.1 gram), the cameras focusing mechanism is smooth and fast. Another key characteristic of the GT Lens is its short focusing distance (as close as 40 cm) at all focal lengths. In macro mode, focusing distance can be as close as 13 cm. Two special AD (anomalous dispersion) glass elements are used in the 1st component to compensate for chromatic aberration, so that color blurring can be avoided. Molded glass aspheric elements are used in the 2nd and 3rd components to suppress curvilinear distortion, ensuring high quality from the center of the image to its edges. These aspheric elements also help keep the camera compact. |
