PASM exposure modes
The DiMAGE F100 gives you four exposure modes to choose from. In Program (P) mode, the camera automatically optimizes the shutter speed and aperture for you. Alternatively, with Aperture-priority (A) you can alter the depth of field to get excellent results with portraits, landscapes, and macro images. Shutter-priority (S) lets you change shutter speeds as desired, and Manual (M) mode provides full control over both shutter speed and aperture.
Diverse color mode
The DiMAGE F100 comes equipped with three selectable color modes: Natural Color, Vivid Color, and Black & White.

White balance
The DiMAGE F100 has automatic white balance, as well as four preset modes: daylight, cloudy, tungsten, and fluorescent. There is also a custom white balance setting for when you wish to adjust white balance yourself, a handy feature if you're shooting in unique lighting conditions.
Adjustable ISO settings
Sensitivity can be switched from Auto to any of the following ISO-equivalent settings: 100, 200, 400, or 800. You can adjust the ISO setting and combine it with a slow shutter to create images with an interesting effect, such as a 15-second bulb shot taken at night.
Digital Effects Control (DEC)
With DEC, you can tailor images as desired by adjusting contrast, saturation, and exposure compensation. Contrast and saturation are adjustable in seven steps, while exposure compensation can be shifted between +/- 2 EV in 1/3 EV increments. After making your settings, you can confirm the look of these changes on the camera's LCD monitor prior to image capture.

Exposure bracketing
Exposure bracketing delivers three images for each shot: the original image plus a slightly under-exposed version and a slightly over-exposed version. You can then pick the one you like best. Bracketing is selectable from +/- 0.3, 0.5, or 1.0 EV.

Exposure metering
imageMulti-segment metering automatically calibrates the best exposure based on light readings taken over the entire picture frame. Spot metering, on the other hand, measures light in the center of the frame, which ensures a good exposure when the background is very light or dark.
