Direct Your Own Movies at Any Time
XR (Extended Recording) movies
If the scene calls out for a more animated approach, shift gears and access the movie mode instead. The DiMAGE F200 has two quality settings to choose from: 160 x 120 pixels or 320 x 240 pixels. In either case, you can continue recording a clip until your memory card is full*. Sound is also included in the movie clip.

*On rare occasions, some memory cards may not record to full capacity due to their writing speed.
Direct video recording
As an alternative to recording movies on your memory card, you can connect the DiMAGE F200 to a VCR and capture live footage on video tape*. Visuals are recorded as smoothly as they appear on the camera's LCD monitor, at 30 frames per second in NTSC format or 25 fps in PAL. Sound is captured at the same time, making the F200 a great way to record the sights and sounds of parties and other gatherings.

*Separate AV cable required.
Forward & rewind
When playing back either movies or audio files, you can fast forward through the file to efficiently find a particular moment. And this works in the other direction as well, as this feature allows you to quickly rewind to see or hear something in the file again.
Night movie recording
In low-light situations, the DiMAGE F200 automatically boosts its sensitivity to compensate for the lack of adequate lighting. As a result, you're not limited to capturing color movies during the daytime only.
Diverse audio recording
Choose from 3 types of audio recording to match your needs. For long dictation, you can record up to 3 hours* of audio on a single file. Or, when you want to just make a quick note, use the Voice Memo function to create a brief file up to 15 seconds long. A third option lets you add captions directly to the images stored on your memory card. Audio playback is available, as is volume control.

*In 8-bit uncompressed WAVE format. 128MB SD Memory Card required.
