DiMAGE Z10's Super Macro lets you shoot close-up pictures of objects from as near as 1 cm for beautifully detailed shots of flowers, insects and the like.

A total of seven settings — Auto, Daylight, Tungsten, Fluorescent, Cloudy, Flash, and Custom — let you optimize color according to your light source. Or you can experiment for even greater creativity.
Fast, automatic detection of whether you're shooting a portrait, landscape, sports action, or sunset scene, combined with automatic optimization of exposure, shutter speed, white balance, and other settings to match the scene.
Four selectable color modes let you give your shots a different look. With a choice of natural, vivid, sepia, and black & white, you have another set of creative options. All four color modes are available for movie clips, too.

3-step adjustment allows you to alter sharpness and contrast to match your subject and get exactly the image you had in mind.
Advanced noise reduction circuitry substantially reduces the image noise that affects shots taken at slow shutter speeds. It's particularly useful with images of night scenes, the night sky, fireworks, and the like. You can turn the function on or off to suit the individual situation.

DiMAGE Z10's powerful built-in flash delivers plenty of illumination to assure you of successful flash photography even with the lens at its widest angle. Guide number is 12 (ISO 100, meters).

Four flash modes are available*: auto, auto with red-eye reduction, fill flash, slow sync and flash cancel.
Just switch from autofocusing to manual focus any time you want more creative control over your photography.
This handy function gives you at-a-glance indication of a scene's overall brightness, allowing you to adjust exposure if necessary to capture the image you want — especially useful on bright, sunny days and with high-contrast subjects or scenes. Histograms of captured images can also be checked.

In low-light conditions, the LCD monitor brightens automatically to help you compose your shot.
Multi-segment, center-weighted, and spot metering are available to help you get the best results in varying light conditions.
