High-key / low-key Zone Matching mode extends CCD dynamic range and adjusts tone curves to beautifully emphasize these areas of a composition.
In predominantly light compositions where normal digital photography would produce significant saturation, setting Zone Matching to HIGH brings out the details in the light areas by reducing exposure to widen the high end of the tone curve, and by raising the tone curve of the entire shot to bring the brightness back down to the appropriate level. In the photos above, the curtain in the background suffers from white-out (left), but its details are captured beautifully with Zone Matching set to HIGH (right).
In predominantly dark compositions where noise would normally be a problem, setting Zone Matching to LOW brings out details in the dark areas by slightly increasing exposure to widen the low end of the tone curve, and by reducing the tone curve of the entire shot to the appropriate level. In the photos above, details of the model’s skirt blacked out under the normal setting (left) are faithfully reproduced with Zone Matching set to LOW (right).
Extra Fine mode uses JPEG-format 1:2.5 data compression to achieve high image quality and small file size.
A wide range of ISO sensitivity settings include Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200(selected in the menu).
Noise reduction ensures improved image quality on long timed exposures taken at very slow shutter speeds.
User-programmable settings can store up to 19 combinations of frequently used camera settings in memory for later recall.
Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity provides AutoConnect convenience and fast data transfer of images to a PC.

DiMAGE Transfer software, available as a free download from the Konica Minolta website, makes it possible to transfer images directly to a computer as you shoot, over high-speed USB 2.0. In addition, you can also review your images at full-size, allowing a more in-depth check of the composition and focus. This means you can shoot a large number of high-resolution images without worrying about memory capacity. Optional DiMAGE Master Software puts professional-level tools for high-speed browsing and high-quality printing at your command.

Optional DiMAGE Master software puts professional-level tools for highspeed browsing and high-quality printing at your command. A user-friendly tabbed interface lets you sort your images into customizable categories with simple drag-and-drop or one-click operating ease, and there’s a new Comparison mode that aids ‘best shot’ selection by allowing you to magnify and compare a particular area of a group of related images. An improved RAW data processing algorithm ensures more accurate color reproduction, while direct conversion of the RAW image data into the color space used by your printer helps optimize printer performance. In addition, there is a full range of retouching tools for image editing and fine-tuning.

Included DiMAGE Viewer software lets you view images, thumbnails and EXIF data, and greatly simplifies image file moving, copying, renaming, and printing. It also enables you to add and edit comments, and to make basic tone curve, level, and color adjustments.
