The 2.5-inch LCD monitor’s large screen and ultra-fine 207,000-pixel resolution make it easy to check the details of images you’ve taken. Capable of simultaneous image and histogram display, the monitor can also be set to display images with overexposed and underexposed areas highlighted for quick identification. In addition, you can simultaneously display all of the frames in an auto-exposure-bracketing series to facilitate ‘best shot’ selection.

Convenient file browsing

A convenient File Browser function with 6- frame index display allows you to organize images into tabbed folders for faster retrieval. And if you want to scan through a lot of images quickly, you can switch to multi-frame display and view 4, 9, or 16 images at a time.

Shooting data & easy navigation

In shooting mode, the monitor displays detailed information about current settings and exposure values in large, easy-to-read type. The screen automatically switches to a vertical-format display when you rotate the camera for vertical shooting, and dims to conserve battery power as soon as you put your eye to the viewfinder. It also features an easy-to-navigate interface that provides ready access to the camera’s more advanced functions and shooting modes.

The MAXXUM 7D features the same intuitive and easy-to-operate controls that have made the award-winning MAXXUM 7 a favorite of photographers around the world. The dualpurpose exposure/drive mode and exposure/flash compensation dials on the top of the camera will be instantly familiar to any SLR user, and provide fast access to the most frequently used controls. White balance control is via a conveniently positioned dial on the top of the camera near the grip. And for extended vertical-format shooting you can use the optional Vertical Control Grip, which provides additional battery power and is equipped with its own shutter release, AE-lock and AF/MF buttons.

High-performance viewfinder optics for easy focusing and framing

The MAXXUM 7D’s viewfinder displays essential shooting parameters at the bottom of the frame, providing all the information you need to make important creative decisions quickly. Incorporating high refractive index, low-dispersion lens elements and a high-quality optical glass pentaprism, it offers crystal-clear imaging with 0.9x magnification for fast, easy framing. A spherical acute matte focusing screen also assures outstanding brightness, making it easy to confirm and adjust focus even when using small-aperture telephoto lenses.

A magnesium-alloy front cover panel and bottom plate are mounted on a die-cast magnesium front chassis to ensure the reliability and durability that experienced SLR users demand. High-quality materials and construction are featured throughout, and the outer body shell has a sophisticated black leather-tone finish that matches the camera’s high performance standards.
